Thermal potential of minimum temperature, its variance and suitability for potato crop in Iraq

Abstract

This research dealt with the analysis of the thermal data of the minimum temperature available in the stations of the study area، as it has a significant impact on the appropriateness or unsuitability of the station for planting the crop for each agricultural loop and determining the areas for planting the potato crop in Iraq by linking the thermal requirements of the minimum temperature of the crop and the heat available in the stations of the area The study was based on the stations (Mosul station، Hay station، Najaf station، Nasiriyah station، Basra station، Baghdad station، Al-Amarah station، Khanaqin station، Kirkuk station، Diwaniyah station، Rutba station).

By knowing the potentials available in the study area and linking these thermal potentials with the heat needed by the crop at each stage of its different cultivation، it shows us the extent of thermal compatibility، which makes this station suitable for the crop or not.
