Geographical Analysis of Educational Services and Their Spatial Efficiency in Al-Maimouna District

This study examines the current state of educational services in Al-Maimouna District for the academic year (2025–2026), by analyzing the efficiency of the distribution of educational institutions and the extent to which they align with locally adopted planning and educational standards. The study is divided into two sections: the first addresses the spatial distribution of educational services in Al-Maimouna District, while the second focuses on evaluating the efficiency of these services in the study area according to local indicators. The research concludes with a set of findings and recommendations. The study aims to assess the efficiency of the spatial distribution of schools and measure their compatibility with local standards, particularly with regard to distance and accessibility indicators, as well as educational density indicators such as (students per school, students per class, and students per teacher). The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, relying on official data and statistics, in addition to a field study represented by the distribution of (962) questionnaires randomly across several administrative units within the district, in order to assess the reality of access to educational institutions. The results reveal a noticeable shortage in school buildings compared to the actual need, along with a disparity in their spatial distribution. Moreover, the study area suffers from a lack of kindergartens, particularly in Sayyid Ahmad Al-Rifai sub-district. It was also found that the number of classes is not consistent with the number of students, resulting in overcrowding and high density within classrooms. In light of these findings, the study emphasizes the importance of expanding the construction of school buildings and reorganizing their spatial distribution in accordance with planning standards. It also highlights the need to reduce student density and improve safe access conditions, which would contribute to enhancing the efficiency of educational services and achieving greater spatial equity in Al-Maimouna District.
