The Effect of the (N.D.P.D) Strategy on Fifth-Grade Preparatory Female Students’ Achievement in Kurdish Grammar

This study aims to investigate The Effect of the (N.D.P.D) Strategy on Fifth-Grade Preparatory Female Students’ Achievement in Kurdish Grammar.To achieve the objective of the study, the researcher formulated the following null hypothesis:There is no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level of significance between the mean achievement scores of female students who study Kurdish grammar using the N.D.P.D. strategy and those of female students who study the same subject using the conventional teaching method, as measured by the achievement test.The study was limited to fifth-grade preparatory female students enrolled in government secondary schools for girls affiliated with the General Directorate of Education, Baghdad/Al-Karkh Third, during the first semester of the 2024–2025 academic year. The instructional content comprised selected topics from the first part of the fifth-grade preparatory Kurdish Grammar textbook prescribed for the 2024–2025 academic year.The research sample consisted of 60 female students, divided into two groups: an experimental group of 30 students, who were taught using the N.D.P.D. strategy, and a control group of 30 students, who were taught using the conventional teaching method.The researcher developed an achievement test consisting of 30 items, based on a test blueprint designed to measure the first three cognitive levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. The test included objective multiple-choice questions. Its psychometric properties were established by verifying its validity, item difficulty indices, item discrimination indices, and reliability.The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was employed to analyze the data. An independent-samples t-test was used to determine the equivalence of the two groups and to examine differences in achievement between the experimental and control groups. The Chi-square test was used to analyze parents’ educational attainment, while distractor efficiency analysis was conducted for the multiple-choice items. The reliability coefficient of the achievement test was also calculated.The findings revealed that the experimental group, which was taught using the N.D.P.D. strategy, significantly outperformed the control group, which was taught through the conventional teaching method, in their achievement in Kurdish grammar.In light of these findings, the researcher reached several conclusions, the most notable of which is that the use of the N.D.P.D. strategy in teaching Kurdish grammar enhanced students’ motivation and classroom engagement, while fostering cooperation and active participation throughout the instructional process.
