استكشاف العلاقة بين الذكاء العاطفي و التحصيل الدراسي لدى طلاب اللغة الانكليزية كلغة اجنبية

هدفت الدراسة الحالية الى استقصاء العلاقة بين الذكاء العاطفي و التحصيل الاكاديمي للطلبة الدارسين للغة الانكليزية كلغة اجنبية. و قد تبنى الباحث استبانة لقياس مستوى الذكاء العاطفي لدى الطلبة. ثم درس علاقته بتحصيلهم الاكاديمي اعتمادا على المعدل النهائي للطلبة في الفصل الدراسي الاول. اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الكمي الارتباطي .و استخدمت استبانة للذكاء العاطفي و التي تقيس خمسة ابعاد: الوعي بالذات, التنظيم الذاتي, الدافعية ,التعاطف, المهارات الاجتماعية لجمع بيانات الطلبة في تخصص دراسة اللغة الانكليزية كلغة اجنبية و كذلك استخدم المعدل التراكمي بوصفه مؤشر لقياس الاداء الاكاديمي. و لتحليل العلاقة بين الذكاء العاطفي و بين التحصيل الاكاديمي, استُخدم معامل ارتباط بيرسون. اظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ارتباطية طردية ضعيفة جدا(ر=0.224) بين الذكاء العاطفي و التحصيل الاكاديمي. و كان بُعد الوعي بالذات الاكثر ارتباطا بالتحصيل الاكاديمي مقارنة ببقية الابعاد. في حين اظهرت ابعاد الدافعية و المهارات الاجتماعية و التنظيم الذاتي علاقات ارتباطية ضعيفة جدا. اما بُعد التعاطف فلم يظهر اي علاقة ارتباط مع التحصيل الاكاديمي . و تشير لنتائج الى ان الذكاء العاطفي لدى الطلبة الدارسين للغة الانكليزية كلغة اجنبية لا يُعد مؤشرا موثوقا للتنبؤ بالتحصيل الاكاديمي.
وفي الختام، توصلت الدراسة الى ان الذكاء العاطفي قد يسهم في تعزيز الوعي بالذات و التفاعل داخل الصف الدراسي و الدافعية و التواصل الا انه لا يبدو له تأثير مباشرا ذا دلالة على التحصيل الاكاديمي. و توصي الدراسة بأجراء المزيد من البحوث على عينات أكبر, مع دراسة عوامل اخرى مثل الدافعية وقلق تعلم اللغة و استراتيجيات التعلم لما قد يكون لها تأثير في التحصيل الاكاديمي.
