It may come to mind that the centuries which followed the fall of the Abbasid rule in 656AH, were dark ages, but the researcher who seeks in the manuscripts of that period, will find a great scientific effort.

We can find thousands of books in various field of knowledge , in spite of the political, economical and social troubles that Iraq faced in that era.

The shortage of researches concern the collections perhaps could reflect the Iraqi reality which brought this idea of dark ages to mind.

As, we couldn't find souch information that might help us to reach this fact in Iraq in that period, especially from the tenth century until the thirteenth century AH, so it is better for us to study the ways of making ink and its tools, relying on the  manuscripts storage of al-Abbas holy shrine.

We are trying to make our field laboratory research as a source of knowledge for the scholars. We depended on the materialistic sources more than on written books. This is the concept of the laboratory research, which means the results will depended on the analysis as a main source.

We can say, these collections are our sources, to show the method of making ink and its tools in the limited time that is devoted to research as mentioned above
