Abstract

In this paper, we briefly approach the history of Middle Eastern Arabs in Latin America, emphasizing the importance and contribution of literary translation in the mutual knowledge between the Arab world and the American continent.
We first shed light on the beginnings of such immigration in America and then we will quote some Latin authors of Arab origin and introduce some of the most outstanding literary translators who brought the Latin American reality closer to the Arab reader, and finally we highlight the Arab mark left on Latin American literature.
